Terms and Conditions

Rooms and Equipment

Only the rooms booked and the equipment hired may be used apart from general use of toilets and entrances. The premises must be left in a reasonably tidy condition and may be used only between the hours stipulated. No extra equipment or apparatus can be brought in and used except by permission of the Administrator or Assistants. The lighting, heating and treatment of floors must not be altered or tampered with. No decoration of halls or rooms is allowed without prior permission. Staples, sticky tape or blue-tac are not to be used on the walls under any circumstance.



A non returnable deposit of 50% must be paid to the Manager or Assistants upon acceptance of booking. Balance of payment to be paid 6 weeks prior to the function.



Cancellations will be accepted subject to 6 WEEKS CLEAR WRITTEN NOTICE when the right is reserved to charge 50% of the hire charge. Should appropriate notice not be given, the full hire charge is payable. Filton Community Association reserve the right to cancel bookings and refund any money paid.



All damage and breakages must be reported to the Manager or Assistants and will be charged at current cost.  No liability will be accepted for any loss or damage to property left on the premises by hirers or their contractors.  A returnable deposit is to be paid in cleared funds with the full balance of the hire cost, and will be repaid in the week following the function provided no damage or breakages have occurred. Deposits are normally returned by cheque.



Our halls are hired on a regualr basis throughout the week and so we must insist that all food prepared or eaten on the premises are dry, or buffet type foods and snacks, to ensure these bookings are not disturbed by extra cleaning efforts. This precludes the use of sauces, e.g. curry or pasta sauces, and other wet foods.



No intoxicants and beverages are allowed to be brought or consumed on the premises without prior permission of the Administrator or Assistants. If intoxicants and beverages are permitted to be supplied by you for your function the bar can be in operation forthe duration of your function but any applicant bringing any drinks into the centre without prior consent from teh management will be charged accordingly.

A CORKAGE fee will be charged for intoxicants and beverages brought in.


Right of Entry

Filton Community Association reserve the right of entry at all times of such Officers as they think fit for the proper supervision of the premises.



The hirer must submit such returns as are necessary to the Performing Rights Society and Phonographic Performances Ltd.  The hirer must also apply for any licence, relevant insurance, and make any required payments as necessary.



To comply with licensing laws the playing of music must cease at 11:45pm on Saturdays

Frequently Asked Questions

Is there a car park?

       Yes there is a good sized car park outside the building, split in two halfs with a second part behind the leisure centre. The area around the community centre is generally designated for the use of the centre.


Do you have a lift?

        We only have a stairlift at the moment to provide access to the upstairs suite.


Do you have disabled access?

       There are wide opening doors and ramps to the front of the building.


Do you hire rooms?

       Yes we do please see our Room Hire page.


Do you have a bar?

       Yes we have a licensed bar, which is available as an addition to room hire, please see our Room Hire page.


Do I have to pay in advance?

      Yes please, we cannot really hire spaces without full payment including damage deposit in cleared funds.


Is there a damage deposit payable?

     Yes we must charge a damage/ cleaning deposit, which depends on your event, the hall hired and the numbers attending but ranges from £100 - £500


Is there a kitchen?

     Yes we have two kitchens available; the upstairs one is included as part of the Lesley Harris Suite. The downstairs kitchen is available as an addition  to the hall or room hire for a £25 charge. In this case the kitchen is hired for the duration of the room/hall hire.


Do you have tables / chairs?

      Yes we can supply tables and chairs for use at your function, please discuss this with a member of staff.


Is there any time allowed for setup?

      Yes non regular events are normally allowed a half hour before and after their booked times to allow setup and clean up. If you need any special arrangements with this, please speak to a member of staff, as we may be able to help by offering you alternative times which are mutally convenient.
